Need some help...

Okay so my mom allowed me to make myself a user on her laptop untill I get a new one or my old one is found by the police, but now a lot of her desktop icons show on my user desktop, and ive done this before (when HP was replacing everytinhg but the hardrive on my laptop) I deleted her icons and they when't missing off her desktop. Is it possible to delete my moms icons off my desktop without affecting my moms? Or will I have to use omnimo to have a custom desktop? I just don't like having stuff on my desktop I won't use.

If it's a separate user account, it's a separate desktop. A simple test would be move the shortcuts you don't want from your desktop to a new folder and make sure your moms account is in no way affected. Then, you can easily restore the icons if there's a problem or delete them if everything is OK.

It should not affect it, being as you two are two separate users.

I don't think it would also delete the shortcut on your mother's desktop, since user accounts are meant to be personally customized

If it's a separate user account, it shouldn't affect it.
