Click on the top left hand side where it says UserCP.

If you click on thread tools and then click "subscribe to thread" then you can just click on top left at user CP and a list of your subscribed threads are there and you can easily check for replies you can also set email notifications as well.

If you've asked your own question through thread and want to check the replies you just have to do to your profile, statistics, click 'find all threads started by *yourname*' and you'll have a list of them. If there are any new replies the threads will be at the top of the list and in bold.

You can even get an email when you are replied to, if you'd like. Simply click here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions#sel_autosubscribe), choose how often you want them sent, and click "Save Changes" at the bottom.
In your User CP, like others said, there will be a section called "Subscribed Threads". Usually, unless you are not subscribed to them(see link above), you will see the thread. Click the arrow pointing down on the left of the title to go to the first new post since you last saw the thread.

As previously mentioned, an excellent way to do this would be to use the "Subscribe to Thread" option. To subscribe to a thread, in the top right corner click "Thread Tools" and then "Subscribe to Thread".
Glad I could help :)
