Ok, how many of you have friends who are like a lot older than you, like within a 10 year gap. I was thinking the other day about when I was little, I was friends with guys who were like a lot older than me and in a few grades higher than me, but I didnt really notice it when I was little. I mean, now Im 15 in the 9th grade and I was looking at this dude on Facebook who I was friends with a few years back, and he is already graduated now. When we were friends back then, I must have been like 7 or 8 and he had to be like 11 or 12. I was also friends with someone else who has already graduated too. I never really noticed the age gap back then, but I look back on it now and Im like dang. They knew I was a few years younger than them and we still hung out back then, haha Its just kinda funny to me for some reason, lol How many of you been in a situation like this?!?!

I'm going to be 17 in a few days and half of my friends have just graduated from college, putting them around 22-24
When I was 13 I started hanging out with my 18 year old brother and all his friends and ever since I've barely hung out with people my own age.
As for the age gap as little kids, I also had a lot of those too. When I first moved to where I live now I was 4 and my neighbor became my best friend. He was.. 7 or 8? Me him and brother were inseparable. It is crazy to think that basically all of my friends are out of school, not to mention college and I'm just now a senior.

A few years ago, when I was in like the 5 and 6th grade, One guy was in the same grade, and the rest varied from 2-4 years older, it was weird but we all got along together.

My cousin is 20 and for years I hung out with him and his friends which all became friends.... I am still in contact with them ...all of them are like juniors/seniors in college and I'm going into 10th this year....but we plan on hanging out in a couple of weeks together....I'm not sure if they think of me as a little brother or what, but we all seem to get along together....we'll fish, ski, and do things I'm sure like always....I guess age isn't a concern to either of us...so yes I know your situation for sure

Well having older friends is quite common. I myself don't have many older friends by much years. Like I am 16 currently and I have some friends who are 18/19 and few that are slightly over 20 but very very few over the age of 26 and even then its only like family.

Nothing wrong with hanging out with older friends. It can give both positive and negative influence. However like I said nothing wrong with hanging out with older people.

When I was about 3-5 I hung out with these 12-13 year olds all the time, they didn't mind and I loved it,they all have children now and are married :o
As to older friends in general,I have lots of friends in their 20-30s that I hang out with regularly

I like hanging with people my own age :P Except one of my friends who is a year older, I prefer it like that :D Obviously under the right situation I'm not shy about starting a conversation.

I am 15 and the neighbor's kid has already graduated college, he is like 23 or 24 now, can't remember but he and I have been good friends since I can remember. Over the past few summers since I was 13 we've been to movies together and hung out when he was home from school.

Having friends that are a lot older than you is great :) I have friends anywhere from 15-40 years old. Hanging out with older people gives you some great life experience, assuming you choose your friends wisely. And if you're one for choosing friends wisely, they can become inspiring mentors (especially if your life at home isn't too great). Gives you more people look up to and experience more types of people than just your parents who can help you shape who you are (because we all know parents can be a drag sometimes).

It's pretty normal, I have friends ranging from 18 to people in their 30's+. Then again; I have few friends that are my age, since I'm pretty shy; but meh. Anyway, I don't let an age gap bother me.
