School locker/shower rooms

Next year I will start high school and it is mandatory I take showers. Is it awkward. Are their curtains to hide your self or just does everyone see you naked. I'm comfortable being nude around close friends but not other kids at school. If someone could describe this it would be appreciated

My schools doesn't make us shower, and no one ever does. Whether there are curtains or not depends on your school, some have them, others don't. It might be awkward to begin with, but people will probably get used to it fairly quickly.

my school doesn't make you. Usually the jocks do but they are the only ones who do. When they do they are completely naked.

As freshman it is mandatory at our school....I think as you go on it is up to you, but I shower every day anyway ....and i'm a swimmer and shower all the time after practice...gang showers and we are all naked

Michael said it very well. I am glad we had to start taking open showers in middle school. Everyone got used to it after a few days and then had fun in pe. Don't worry about it. It will be OK.

Well i dont have to take showers in my school, but i do have to after football pratice. But its not so weird, you just shower off and go home. And you usually get used to it.

we dont shower after gym class but after lacrosse practice we have 2 but everyone is the same just go in dont think that ur in a shower with 15 other boys just dont pay atention to them go in wash up and if ur scared of getting a boner just try to think about stuff that u dont like or just let it get hard if any1 says ur gay for getting a boner remind them they must be gay for looking at it to know its hard lol

in my school your supposed to shower before you go in the pool but its not like you get naked, we all wear swim trunks and nobody goes in there and watches so we uually just get our hair wet so it looks like we did, its kind of funny, but your friends are probably just as uncomfortable as you so if you have to shower naked and someone makes fun of you then they are gay because they are looking

At my high school showering is a choice no matter what grade. Usually ppl make jokes (not mean or hurtful ones) like one time this guy (a show off clown lol) took a shower but forgot a towel (school doesn't provide them) and he ran back to his lock completely naked with his junk flopping around in view of everyone. All the guys were laughing but no one was seriously laughing AT him...just what he was doing lol but other wise its just like showering at home....unless you start jackin in the shower....might get ya a few looks lmao

At my school we started showering in 7th grade. We were all kind of goofy together then so it was no big deal and by now we are all used to it. There isn't a rule about showering but almost all the guys do shower after PE - who wants to smell all day! And everyone on my soccer and baseball teams shower after practice.

At my high school it wasn't mandatory to shower. The majority of us did it anyways because we were all sweating and were all gross. Our showers were open showers were you could see everybody and everything. The first time I showered freshmen year, it was quite awkward. Not only for me, but for everybody. I could tell most of the guys were a little uncomfortable getting completely naked in front of everybody. But trust me, after the first couple of showers, you'll be comfortable. Most of the time we all just do our thing and get out. We'll make jokes and say stupid crap to each other, but we just shower and get out.

Honestly though, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you are afraid to get naked and to see others naked, just remember that you are all guys and you all have the same equipment. It's nothing you haven't seen before. You will get more comfortable the more you do it. :)

We don't have to shower at my school. We just have to go down to our underwear to put on gym clothes. So i was just as worried as you when I went to camp that I would have to shower in front of a bunch of people. But It's really not a big deal. It's kinda the same as at tbe urinal with everyone trying to avoid eye contact convorsations and looking at each other at all. Believe me they don't want to see your junk just as much as you don't want them to see it

No one HAS to at my school. I do because i hate being all sweaty. I get naked and some guys are like "wtf". My friends just make fun of anyone who has a problem with it.

we didnt have to in grade school, but we did have to in middle school (grades 6-8) and now in high school we don't have to, but about 95% of us do. 100% of the guys who dont shower aren't athletic really quiet and kind of girly or fat. The guys who do are normal guys, atheletes and some of the girly or fat guys. so i don't really know why the other girly or fat guys don't shower. No one says anything to them abt it, but most people think they are gay or have tiny dicks or they aren't circumcised. we don't kno we dont ask and no one really talks to them. i think if they just did what everyone else was doing no one would label them like that. it seems backwards compare to other guys posts tho

our school changing room is like an L shape and the missing bit to the cube is the showers, they are completley open along one side so if you change in that bit you can see in the showers all the time. there are no curtains and no temprature controls, the teacher turns them on with a big tap on the wall and you all just go in there.
There is nowhere to hang a towel, so you can either leave it on the floor by the shower where it gets wet or get to and from the shower as quick as you can.
I dont like it, just get in and out as quick as i can. what realy freaks me out is the pe teacher sits in the changing room and watches us all:eek:

It's not mandatory in my school. Some schools don't even let people shower. Usually the showers are open maybe with a little divider between each but not completely closed

Some schools are different, my school has little stall type things with two curtain doors. I was the exact same way. But the way to really get ready for a shower is strip down to your boxers then wrap the towel around your waist, then pull your boxers down underneath the towel

It will be ok I mean we all have the same thing and basically its not like someones going to jack you of or suck you so just stick to your self i mean i j/oed in the shower before and every guy talks about there dicks so its so odd that it isnt weird if you know what i mean me and this guy who have never talked would every day just talk about are dicks but then again that was after cc before school and they do say the walk arounnd hard and tryn to hump each other but for everry one its a different experense but if your worried about people talking about your dick dont they dont say a word because they know you know about there dick
