View Full Version : Muscle Aches

It all started this morning. My muscles felt kind of stiff, but I never really thought much about it. As the day progressed, the stiffness grew into pain. About an hour or so into school, I began getting grinding headaches and dizziness which threw me off balance at least ten times. By the time I was in second period, I had the chills, I was breathing heavily and my body was shaking for the rest of the day. The people sitting with me in chemistry thought I was on drugs, which I most assuredly was not. The only thing that I could really say caused this was some above average physical exertion on Sunday, but I doubt muscle strain comes with all those aforementioned maladies.

Robert,
Have you done anything physical (like exercise or working out) in the past few days? You been under stress lately?

Ah my bad, I should of asked how hard you worked out. What exactly did you do? Weights, moving heavy boxes, running? And what caused you to get stressed?

Hmm, I just boxed for about half an hour. That's an unusual activity for me, but I did it anyways. As far as stress goes, what doesn't cause me stress? I wouldn't say that there's anything unusual about the stress conditions I faced.

Ok, thank you for telling me that =]
It seems a bit strange that you were shaking and having chills. If you ate a light breakfast, then you might of had low blood sugar and started shaking, feeling dizzy or get a headache. You could of also have allergies, which could of contributed to the headache.
As far as the stiffness and muscle aches, a lot of us get this because we slept in a weird position and especially after you do exercise that you're not used to, and the stress could of contributed to it.
Since this is just the first day, don't worry about it. It could be all fine tomorrow or Wednesday. Just take it easy and make sure you don't do anything too physical to agrivate the whole thing, get enough rest and eat a good breakfast to start the day off. If this keeps happening after a few days and you feel like you might pass out during school, tell a teacher or your parents.

Thank you. I hope it does get better because it's severely affecting my academic standing.

That is usually the case when the muscles are not yet warmed up during an exercise. The worst thing about having muscle aches is that it stays throughout the day, I dread it.
You can probably use an ointment for the pain. Or you can soak in a nice warm bath, add in some Epsom salts for some extreme muscle pain relief.
