Well, that varies from state to state. And then from district to district. And sometimes from school to school, even.
Usually your school will send an announcement or something about what has to be done. I know for a fact that last year, in San Jose Unified School District(California), 7th graders had to get things like the TDAP booster or something. Here (http://www.sjusd.org/student-services/health-family-support/tdap-requirement/) is their announcement, for example.
Whether it hurts or not we can't say. If you have a fear of needles, then it's likely it will hurt. Otherwise, it might go just fine. Who knows?

It actually varies from person to person. It depends on your immunization history. Your parents will get a letter that shows which shots you'll need and how many.
It's nothing to get overly excited about. In BC, we get them in grade 6 and 9. Whether it hurts depends on what vaccines you're getting and whether it is injected into fat tissue or muscle tissue. It's not usually the needle jab that hurts, it is depositing the vaccine in the tissue that can sting at the time or ache for a while after.
Try not to psyche yourself out over it. It won't do any good and it'll be over fast. Also remember to wear a loose t-shirt on the day, otherwise it can be a hassle to get your arm out.
Don't forget to let us know how it goes.

i had to get two. some people get a bit more dramatic, like this girl who passed out before entering the room, but honestly, it only stings a little bit when they pull the needle out. then you feel nauseous for a bit, but then it gets better. at least that's how it was for me. mom told me it was cuz they put the dead virus inside my body, and i was fighting it off.
but that was going into seventh grade.

I got two, and it really wasn't that big of a deal. I felt perfectly fine after them, and the only real thing that happened was that my arm felt a bit tense after...
But really, it's nothing to worry about.

I live in Ontario and only had to get three, one for meningitis and two for hepatitis. The girls also had to get HPV. The number you'll have to get depends on where you live.
They don't really hurt. The needle feels like a small pinch and only lasts a few seconds. Your arm might be a bit sore for a day or two after, but that should be fairly mild.

In Alberta you get 3 hep b shots and then another one in grade nine, which doesn't really hurt.
