Super Mario World 2

Since I can't read Japanese, I'll stick to Red/Blue/Yellow.
-EDIT-
In no way shape or form should the N64 be considered "retro" gaming. If you really think about it, the graphics alone are still remarkable in some cases for games that get made even today. It is not even that old of a gaming console. Maybe if it was 20 years old I'd consider it "retro", but it's only 16 years old. That's in no way retro, especially in my book. The same can be said for Gameboy Color.
If that's what you consider "retro", I really am getting a lot older.

I also played quite a bit of Sonic the Hedgehog (Genesis) and Ocarina of Time (N64) in my youth

Agreed. N64 is not any where near retro, nor its contemporaries.
True, retro should be composite of graphics engine which at best rendered 2/2.5D or vector images, i.e primitive, hence retro.

Definitely Super Mario 64 on the N64.
Then Chrono.Cross for the PS1
Then Super Mario RPG Legend of the Seven stars on the N64.
Then Pokemon Red on the GBC.
PS1 is considered Retro. Really the N64 is Retro. It's AS OLD AS the PS1.
Plus that wouldn't be Retro anymore. That would just be old junk

The PS1 is not considered retro. Retro gaming normally is referring to a game from about 20 years past and most likely will not have 3D graphics (not to say current 2D/2.5D games are retro)

Don't know of any Retro games but I'm going to try looking up some games for 3.1, I'll get back when after I try several. Current fave is the arcade game PAC MAN. :)

The definition of Retro is "10 or more years after NA release" PS1 is 16 years old.

Give it about three years and the first Modern Warfare game will be considered retro.
I don't know what the recent craze with retro gaming is about. Ever since the indie movement started kicking into shape back in 2010, everyone seems to be in this loop of retro shit.
I grew up playing second, third, and fifth generation systems and titles. Second generation is all about Atari while third definitely belongs to Nintendo. The fifth gen is pretty hard, since Sony and Nintendo came out with two great consoles at that time. It's just disappointing to know that the GameCube had so much more potential than it was given.

.
I don't know about the Kids. But I definitely played those oldies, and will play some more that I haven't the chance to play or finish.
I guess the interest rose thanks to the Emu/Rom scene back in mid 2k. As some machine got older, Computer games needed more spec, and emus became more viable, but grown to popularity thanks to reissues of the games on current machines.
Retro games are good, especially if you had a hands on experience with them.
