when i go for my physicals i'm wearing tighty whities :yes: and my doctor has me take them off pretty much right at the start of the physical. i just found out from a friend of mine who goes to the same doctor and who wears boxers that gets to keep them on until the genital stuff at the end. any ideas why the doctor does that? (i wish i knew that before i had my physical already)

As the poster above me said, try wearing boxers for your examination, but something is up with that. If he doesn't make you take 'em off there's still something up. Ask some of his other young patients if he makes them take their underwear off early into the examination. If he doesn't make them take them off until the genitalia examination I would highly recommend telling your parents and warning the relevant authorities.

uhm, my pediatrician always has a parent stay in the room with you, so i don't think he's doing anything off the mark, not with a parent sitting there. i will wear boxers next time though.

wow that is strange, but if he has been your doctor for a while I would hope nothing wrong...haven't had a parent in the exam tho since I was 12...that I guess depends on the doctor tho

Ask the doctor directly why another patient who favors different underwear types are allowed to keep them on...if they refuse to respond or whatever, tell your parents/the clinic administration and if you feel really awkwarded-out, report him to the local authorities.

I don't think its unusual to have your underwear off the entire time. Sometimes they just get in the way, even with the things that aren't strictly related to your genitals. However, my pediatrician allows me to keep my boxers on for most of the time. The only time they come off is when he examines my penis and testes. He has me pull them down to my knees, does what he has to, and tells me to pull them back up after maybe 30 seconds.

when I go, i always were underware- but my doctor only has me take them off when she (or he some times) is looking at my balls. The last time I whent she told me that I was getting more "sexually mature" and that might have some thing to do with your delema -- your friend might just not have started growing down there yet :P

So i guess my point is that every doctor has his or her own style and each patient is different it probably has nothing to do woth your underwear

Every doctor is different and so is every patient. Your friend may have been embarrassed on a previous visit so the doc took it easy on him. Maybe he knows your a stud and can handle being naked. Anyway I don't think it is anything to worry about unless you end up with an erection??

yeah that is unusual. my doctor even lets me keep a gown on so i can cover up my whole body. my doctor just lays me down and checks it and its only for like 5 seconds. yeah next time ask him if you can keep them on until the examination

the first time i went the doctor just told me to lower my boxers and he just took a good look at my balls and penis and that next time i went to another doctor she told me to get undress and she touch my penis but i never had any doctor take of my underwear

Dude your doc is weird. I wear briefs too, and in my physical the last thing the Doc ask is pull down your brief a bit and the check is very fast I would say even not watching my dick.
