Hi guys. I never ran for quite some time and since it's summer break and I have nothing better to do, I might as well lose some weight. Do you guys have any tips or advice on how to start running? Maybe some plan that may help me?

Thanks.

start out easy, let your body get used to the running before you push yourself hard.

try to create a few different tracks (short one/mid one/long one) so your traning aint allways the same.

if you don't want to run on a track you could allways run constantly for 30-120 minutes and see how long it takes you,
intervaltraning is also a good way of traning.

set goals, try to beat your last time on the track, run further, faster and better.

Good luck

Start barefoot or with minimalist shoes and listen to your body. Aim for a midfoot strike and go as far as your body would like you to go. Too much too soon will lead to stress injuries. Enjoy your stronger feet and calves and have fun!

The couch to 5k program is excellent, and free. Search it on google! I dont know the exact address but there is a copy on coolrunning.com. Just glance at it and it tells you what to do each day.
