First let me state that i was unsure where to put this so i just put it here!!
Since starting puberty, I have noticed that over the past few years i have started to become "flabby." Mostly around the midsection. So I have thought about start running. But i have some questions about it.
1) Is it true that running burn belly fat? I ask this because i have read so many different things. Some people say yes, some say yes but...., and some say no.
2) Is it better to run while being timed (EX. 60 min.) or is it vetter to run a certain distance (EX. 4 miles)
2) If I run 60 min. 5-6 days a week every week, will i notices any weight loss within the next month to month and a half?

Hello Matthew,
During puberty your body attempts to store fat for when it is needed .e.g. for growing and development. Usually when you get slightly flabby during puberty you will loose the weight VERY quickly as you get into your later teens. So the possible fat gain over the last few years can be rather natural.
Does running help burn fat loss in the stomach area? Yes all exercise burns calories and in turn burns fat however, you will find a better experience if you tried weights or ab-crunches. These target the muscles and burn fat at the same time. Now obviously you won't loose weight if you don't eat right. Doing 60 mins of exercise then going and having a double cheese burger form a fast food place ain't going to help. So needless to say a balanced diet is required.
Running and timing can improve motivation e.g go faster to beat your previous time however, you ain't wanting to be a runner are you? You personally want to loose extra weight. So timing yourself in 60 mins ain't really a big deal. You might want to set a distance and pace yourself yet time yourself and try to beat said time as a gentle job might not lift the weight. However when loosing weight via running it is not essential to time yourself. If you were working out with weights or a gym it might help to time yourself at each workout station. However running it is not essential. Experiment with this see what suits you best.
Will you notice any differences in a month or a month in a half if you run 5-6 days a week? Well you might see some weight loss. However you want to weight yourself first as sometimes you don't notice yourself loosing weight. So you should loose weight however everyone is different and needless to say you might not.
So an overall conclusion. If you eat correctly and run reasonably you might loose weight. However due to you being in puberty your body might be reluctant to loose weight due to it trying to store fat for when you need to do any growing/development.
I hope this helps and good luck with the weight loss planning.
