I haven't seen a lot of threads dedicated to Nirvana and this saddens me.

What do you think of the band?

They are one of my favourite bands! I love them!

Urm sorry to be your first post but everyone seems to think they're absolutely amazing when in actual fact I really disagree. The other day I had to ask who Kurt Cobain was and I got punched by my friend so apparently that was bad haha. I just don't see it, , they're pretty overrated to be honest. Their music isn't the best and they just snuck through a tiny gap in the music industry and found themselves becoming massive.
Don't hate on me for it, it's only one opinion.

uh, I went on a huge 3-4 year long thing of no nirvana on my computer, now i want to grab every single release again - live, unreleased, ep's, cd's, boxsets, collab, anything. gfidfgjdfkgldfjgkldfgjdk

Coming from a guy who listens to really unknown music and is currently exploring the world of eai/onkyo, overrated and underrated mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. There are AMAZING artists that are popular, but obviously there's more that are shit then good. I personally don't think that how many people listen to your music gets to determine the quality of the material really. I don't get that at all. Also, your opinion has nothing to do with the music itself.

To be honest the music that I listen to isn't that unknown, I know a ton of people on here and in the real world that like the same bands I do, most people ask expecting me to like Nirvana, they're Rock/grunge, it's in the same music category I usually listen to so I think I'm an okay person to be able to form an opinion on them I'm sorry if giving my opinion somehow offended you? Nirvana is a little slow going sometimes the chorus speeds up but still. His voice is a little rough though that's just preference. I like things to be a little harder than what they play, usually. I guess it's not all that bad to listen to, I just don't see myself spending money buying their albums.

I like Nirvana. Perhaps the lyrical content is a little... uh, trippy, but the guitars and drums are strong, and the raspy quality of Kurt's voice is great.

I really like Nirvana. I tend to dig into the meaning of the lyrics and all that shit before I really start getting into music. I have a select few songs by them that I definitely favour because I like and/or relate to the meaning of them. Other than that their sound in general is great, and as Alex said I like the raspy quality in Kurt's voice.

nirvana my good sir is hands down one of the greatest bands to have ever walked this earth. there music is compaible to jesus crist him self. there music is like and orgasm for your ears. like honestly they are the most amazing band ever. the one thing i cant get over is the poor kid on the cover of nevermind. knowing anyone with good tast in music has seen his penis lol. but seriously greatest band ever
