Every now and then I will be sitting or laying an when I get up and start to walk I will become very dizzy and light headed for maybe 20 seconds and I lose my vision. I have actually fallen down twice because of it. Does anyone know what is wrong?

coz When you stand up quickly gravity pulls blood from your brain towards your feet and blood doesn't return to the brain until the next heart beat With a slow pulse it takes a second or two for the body to make adjustments to constrict blood vessels and push blood up to the brain and backwards
If your normal blood pressure tends to be low, you're more likely to experience dizziness

If you're worried about it or it's happening most days, if not everyday I'd advise you to go to the doctors. They will help you better than we can. Just remember to stay hydrated, mainly with water and make sure you have plenty of iron because it's a possibility you may have anemia.

When I was younger I had that happen quite a bit, and we went to several doctors about it. The one who finally gave a diagnosis called it neurally mediated syncope. What you are describing sounds very much like what happened to me when I went through that--I seem to have gotten over it as I got older, though. Here are a couple link about it, I would see if you think that could be it.

I'm not saying it's what you have, but your symptoms are very similar to mine when I had it. If this happens often, frequently, or on a semi-regular basis, you might want to see a doctor as well and maybe propose this

Maybe you're low on iron? After I had surgery I lost a lot of blood and I would forget to take my iron pills so if I was laying down and I get up the same thing would happen to me. I started taking my iron pills regularly and it helped a lot.

I agree with Kryptonite.

If this is happening more and more I suggest you visit a doctor.

Try drinking to remain hydrated.

I have a similar thing, but I was diagnosed with Vertigo, not Syncope. It's a bitch, but you have to either live with it or see if you can get some physical therapy to help you our.

Yea happens sometimes. As long as it isn't frequent or severe you're good.

It may also be your blood sugar, I get dizzy and faint a lot went to the doctor and she did the blood pressure and blood sugar things etc and yeah low blood sugar.

So basically if this is something that's really worrying you or even just inconveniencing you then just go and speak to your GP.
