Truthfully I've been feeling really uninspired lately. I'm getting tired of photographing nature. I need to get my hands on some models and props. Oh well. Here is some of my recent stuff:

I was so close, I could not believe I wasn't stung.

I completely fucked with the colors on that one ^ I got tired of all the green.

for the second picture maybe if the background wasn't green it would look a bit better. They are all really good :D I really like the last one.

I see where your work is heading. You're making awesome progress.

Lay low on the effects though. You want your images to look professional rather than overly "creative" (which gets dry after a while)

Thanks so much guys  I really appreciate you all taking out the time to give me feedback.

I agree but honestly i have no idea to change that coloring in a way that keeps the photo natural and smooth. It looks unreal as it is, even though it's just a body of water. If you have any suggestions i'd love to hear them :). And thank you.

Thank you :). I have a bridge camera so I only use the lens that came with it. I have the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX100V. I'm hoping to get the Raynox DCR-250 2.5x to get better macros though.

Thank you! I'm glad someone sees where I'm heading because I sure am not. Nature is beautiful and I love capturing it but if I had my way I'd shoot more conceptual photos, preferably with models. Oh well.

Can you be more specific on the effects that stand out too much to you? Besides for the bridge one which isn't intended to look natural, I did very little with these photos. I basically just played with lighting and color.

That is with just a standard kit lens!? That is incredible! These look like they have been taken with a really fancy like 300mm lens, and knowing that its not makes these just that bit better in my opinion because you were actually getting up close to the insects, which isn't easy.

Haha thank you . Yeah I get really up close and personal with everything. I was inches away from the bees. It got pretty nerve-wracking at times, to be honest.

I use gimp. I got into it pretty recently, so I'm not very good at it. I like to play with the color curves and background defocus.
