just something i wrote a whiles ago
Huis Clos is a play by Jean-Paul-Sartre about three people in hell, a woman and two men. You wonder where all the flames and the torture and torment are and then after a while you realize this is it the toture and the torment is other people. That's what hell is other people. Slowly driving each other mad all wanting things they can't have, all tearing each other to pieces with the destructive power of their unsatisfied desires. But unable to escape from each other because of the terrible chains of power, and love, and sex, and guilt, and money that bind us all together.
