Uh, no.
A company called "Foxconn" manufactures the iPhone.
Foxconn is a company that manufactures a ton of other electronics as well, including Samsung devices. But Samsung does not manufacture the iPhone.
Foxconn also manufactures the iPad, the Xbox360, the Kindle, and the PS3 to name a few. They have major contracts with Acer, Apple, Amazon, Cisco, Dell, HP, Intel, Microsoft, Motorola, Nintendo, Nokia, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, and Vizio. And those are just the major contracts, there are many many many other companies that Foxconn manufactures electronics for.

Where did you hear this from? It sounds incorrect that Apple would rely on a rival company to create their products.

Ok.. I got that partialy wrong. Samsung does make the cameras for apple products. Idk where i read it, but it said that the main camera factory for samsung was in the town affected by the tsunami. And they had to make an unspecified ammount of cameras for the new iphone.
