Kingdom Hearts 3 (Spoiler Alert)

So, kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance hits North America stores the 31st for the 3DS. And I just wanted to ask, for those who have already played, or know what happends, how you think KH3 will play out. Also, its rumored that KH3 will be developed for next-Gen consoles (Wii U/ PS4), how true do you think this rumor will hold up?

The new Kingdom Hearts video games are really bugging me out. My favorite video game of all time is Kingdom Hearts. Just the first one. The story started out amazing, love the music, love the play and feel of it, love everything about it. Especially where you destroy heartless and Darkside and so on.
Now what? We have to slay colorful shit and the last 3 KH games have been on Nintendo's annoying handheld, the DS. Now I will have to buy a 3DS in order to play and complete KH:3D. I personally wish the next Kingdom Hearts games were released for PS2 like the old days. Which is why I still play Kingdom Hearts on PS2. Still remember when I was 11 years old playing it.

I would guess KH3 would be developed for PS3, but I am not entirely sure. The creator of Kingdom Hearts is currently preoccupied finishing a Final Fantasy game, after which he and his team plan to tackle KH3. When this game will come out, probably at least a year or two. So that is a great possibility now that I think about it. As for gameplay, nothing has even been postulated yet--the entire team is busy working on the Final Fantasy game, trying to finish it. I researched this the other day. Obviously story will include Sora, Lea, etc. as well as the reborn Xehanort being the antagonist (also postulated that the reborn members of the original Organization XIII [Numbers 1-6 I think] will appear as well). Five keyblade masters or something of the sort are supposed to appear as well, including Sora, Mickey, Riku, etc. with Kairi being one of them.

If I'm correct, KH:3D is not the third installment in the main Kingdom Hearts storyline. It's another sidequest game like every other handheld release. I would imagine KH:3 to be a PS3 release, like SquareEnix has done in the past.

This is correct, (yes, I'm a nerd and have actually done research on it :P) KH:3D was NOT the third installment in the main storyline, it was another sidequest game.
