I've met a few people on the web. But it seems that when I meet a guy, the conversation seems to die. It's like nether of us know what to talk about. So in asking, how can I keep the conversation going without sounding weird.

Find common interests, like sport, video games just ask what he enjoys and hopefully you'll find a mutual hobby or something. Don't just do one liners like 'Lol' or 'haha', keep the conversation rolling. Best way to do that is to ask questions and fine out more about one another.

Well think of funny past experiences, something to debate about, I mean there's so much more to talk about!! And also when you guys are close enough, maybe talk about personal things. It's better to talk about personal stuff in person than online.

Just talk about your interests, and try to find a common one. Lets say photos is one for example, then show him/her some of your photography. Just get to know eachother, and keep the conversation rolling.
