Ma'at

Hello, So I'm new here and Ive come to try and find a new forum. The other one Ive been on for a few years but do to immaturity of teens (shockerrr.) a lot of things and lies and whatnot happened. I don't have a very people person type personality and people don't like my bluntness and take it as rude bitchy harshness. so Ive come to try and start fresh and perhaps meet some new people without my name already being tainted.

So, for starters about me I'm very mature and reserved. I'm not a people person, generally sticking to just a few close friends and no girl-friends. Ive had Depression and BDD untreated for five years. I normally don't let anyone know anything about me, but I'm trying to put myself out there and be open with this fresh start. I'm very much a loner and obsessed with Ancient Egypt and depressed angels so my theme will be swapped between them two often. I love old music, I'm a classic rock type girl and adore mumford and sons. I'm very into nature and just being chill. I love to read. I'm huge on advice. I've been a mod and a DA for a couple years before. So yeah, that's me. sorry you had to sit through all that (if you didn't give up already)

Also, for people who wonder about my name/avatar/signature.

Ma'at is an Egyptian concept and Goddess of truth, balance, order, law, morality, and justice. If you've ever seen the weighing of the heart, it's her feather that is weighed against your heart on the balance, with Anubis (Jackel headed God of Mummification and the afterlife.) making sure it's balanced properly, and Ma'at's husband Thoth (The God of wisdom and writing writing it down in records). If your heart was heavier then her feather, it would drop to Ammit the beast who would eat it. Ma'at is the Goddess in my signature.

The Goddess Isis in my avatar, is an example of when the Greco-Roman period believed that the Nile River flooded every year because of Isis weeping in sorrow for Osiris (Her brother, husband and father to Horus her son). Set, Osiris's brother (The god of Deserts, storms and darkness, chaos) murdered him and dissembled his body and spread it throughout the earth, Isis using her power gathered all Osiris's body parts and reassembled him and brought him back to life. She's the Goddess of Mother and wife, Nature and Magic, The Goddess of children and the Protector of the dead. She listened to prayers and befriended those who were in-justified. (slaves, sinners etc)

So yeah, there's your first lesson in Egypt from me. :P I don't know a lot about it at all, just the basics so far!

Also my best friend may be joining soon. (:

Hey! Welcome to VT, I'm pretty new too. Thanks for the info, I may have learned more about Ancient Egypt in the last two minutes than I did in the eight history lessons we had on it in school, lol... Although, to be honest, I didn't pay much attention in class.

I saw an episode of Supernatural that kind of reminded me of the judgement of heart and morality thing mentioned above. An Ancient judge, well... judged them and their guilt and if they actually felt guilty he sentenced them/him to death.... They were than killed by the thing/person they felt guilty about. It was a pretty damn interesting episode, although, I doubt all that based on fact, lol... Anyway...

Welcome to VT. :)
