Movie Goers

Is it me or does everyone love to go to the movies? I personally have gotten bored of movies to the point where I get bored a half hour into the movie. Does that happen to any of you? And also I don't get why when I want to hang out with friends everyone says the movies. You'll only be able to talk with your friends for two seconds and then movie comes on and no talking. So I just want to know, why is movies so popular hang out place for friends?

I only go to the movies if it's something I really want to see... otherwise I just get the DVD or something. But I agree with you, what's the point if you can't talk and stuff? I mean, sometimes I go with a friend, but only if it's when we wnat to actually go watch the movie. I'd much rather go out to eat, or go to the mall or something to hang out. Plus I'm not big on movie theatres... I always end up sitting next to the person who's constantly on their phone, or the annoying guy who won't stop coughing of snoring, or the lady who laughs at inappropriate times... so when it's my choice, I choose not to go to the movies. :]

I actually love going to the movies, even with friends. I love movies, especially when you can feel the sound, and the video is giant. Seriously, it is a whole different experience seeing a movie on the big screen versus a TV.

If the movie is very visual or action like then being in a theater is best. If the idea of the movie is to quietly tell a story about relationships or whatever then i usually see it on netflix.

I love going to the movies. Me andy friends go a lot but we always go to the mall or something before so that we have already had a chance to talk. Then during the movie we always sit in the back and whisper about the movie to each other.

I only really go if it's a film I really want to see or a lot of my friends are going, if one or two of them say 'do you want to go and see ______' I'll just pass up or suggest we hang out somewhere else instead or something. I don't mind it, but I'm not overly keen, especially if the film ends up crap. The prices are a big reason tbh :P

Movies is just a general hang out place because you can get there really early and you can hang out in the lobby and then while you're waiting for the movie, you can talk then. And after the movie is over, you can still hang out there.

my family and I used to go to theaters to watch movies....but that was years ago and now we don't do it at all :/ if we do watch movies it's at home.

I think it's fun going to movies with friends. It's fun watching it on the big screen and being with your friends and laughing at funny or stupid parts. It's a popular hangout place because well, people can can go have lunch/dinner or hangout before and then go be entertained by a movie. It's also a good place to just meet up with friends too. So yeah, if your friends want to go see a movie then just make some time to hang out before or after.
