Anyone here into boats? (I.E. wake boats, bass boats) I love to talk boats and stuff like that. We have a 24' tige wake boat. i love it but i miss our old malibu. Anyone here have a favorite brand of boat or prefferences on how you like a boat?

P.S. I know Wakesetter03 will reply to this one lol.

Everyone knows my opinion on Nautiques, however I'm in love with the new 'Bu.

im not into those big boats, im more into speed and something thats fun to drive. I greatly appreciate a nice slow cruise on the pontoon boat but i like the thrill of driving something fast and fun. (hence my screen name)

P.s. when do u normally check into VT? i stop by the chat room and see if anyone i know is there. U should check it out every once in a while.

You're preaching to the converted here, the Malibu we have is an absolute hoot when not towing a wake boarder, it's a very fast boat. There is a lot to be said though for cruising the coast in a sail boat, we can go to the off shore islands and anchor off a beautiful beach and stay the night, it's great. The two boats compliment whatever mode you're going for :)

I log in a bit, mainly to check here and VMs, I don't go on the chat too much.

Dude, i crashed sooooooooo hard today. i have a concussion! lol... i was out behind the boat boarding and as i was out cutting back across the wake, i jumped off the lip like normal but the landing was off and i SMACKED the water really hard. I was unconsious for a few seconds and then the boat came around. my nose was bleeding pretty bad so my mom was freaking out so she took me to the hodpital to get me checked and turns out, i crashed hard enough to get a mild concussion. No more Wajeboarding or racing for over 1 month! FML.

Today was my worst crash, Whats been your worst crash?

Damn!!! Doesn't sound good dude, was it a new trick or just a mistake?
I haven't had any big spills on the wakeboard, was hit my a jetski once but it wasn't that serious, I had a helmet on as I was trying to learn The Scarecrow lol :)

We figured out what happened. My dad didn't have the cruise set when he was towing me so he was controlling the throttle and he was un aware that I was cutting back across the wake so he was accelerating as I was cutting back and as I was in the air, my torso leaned forward holding onto the rope so I landed wrong and ate it really hard. Hahaha

Ahh ok. He must have been fairly hauling when you fell off?
Well I suppose, if you're going to ride you've got to be prepared to come off, still sucks though :( So a month till you can wakeboard again?

Yup, doc said no boarding, tubing, or skiing for atleast a month. FML
Not only that, I have to go in in a few weeks and if anything isn't like it should be, he might say no for longer. Other than the occasional headache, I feel fine but when it comes to my brain, I'm not going to risk anything and I'll just do what the doctor says.

I have 12 dinghies! I dont really sail skippers :/ Do you prefer sail or motor? For me it is sailing!

Also, have you got your powerboat licence? I am not sure where you are from, but In england we have RYA (Royal Yachts Association) Powerboat Levels, and I have level 2 (Which is the lowest one needed if you want to do safety duty at a race) All I need now is a VHF Licence and a health and safety certification.

Are any of you going for a Yacht masters?

I have a 17" Boston Whaler, its got a new Evinrude 90 2 stroke on it. Its for fishing of course, but we take it up to the lakes and when our friends wakeboat isnt in the water we can use ours for towing. Its a great boat, completely unsinkable too!

I like good ole whalers but for fishing, I love our ranger. 20' ranger Comanche w/ a 250 Yamaha sho. I love that boat but when it's super choppy the tige drives wayyyyyy nicer.

Licences are different worldwide. I know in Australia there are two, personal water craft licences - jetskis etc and your boat licence - any boat or yacht. However, I think there is some sort of training necessary when you go over a certain size, possibly 50 foot, I'm not sure. I've done my boat licence and PWC, I did them as soon as I could.

That's a shame about the concussion man, especially when you're in season over there. Over here the only thing we'll be using our boats for will be for when it floods... again.

Thank you for bumping an old thread with rubbish. Most of the people in here have wake/ski boats, which don't need to go over 60-70mph, performance boats are useless.

Thanks for sticking your opinion in where it wasn't really needed. This thread wasn't bumped buddy, so he's allowed to post in it if he wants to. Next time, don't be so nasty though.
