I'm trying to access a website through Tor (google it), but I don't think it likes Tor. Every time I try to connect to it, it gives me that screen you get when a website is down or doesn't exist. Is there anyway I can get around this?

You have done everything on this list, right?

You are using the Tor Browser, right?

Sometimes, the ISP you happen to be using at the time blocks all ports besides 80 and 443. In that case, you will have to change the corresponding setting, found somewhere in the depths of the Vidalia control panel.

I can't say i know how to help, but I have had my fair share of issues with Tor and really don't recommend it. I think it makes everything load slower and it really isn't a big deal to use the network's proxy unless you are doing something that you shouldn't.

Then you completely missed the point of Tor. Tor is not to mask illegal activities(although some do use it for that), or it would have been shut down years ago.
Tor is to give privacy to its users, or to enable them to do tasks that are not possible given their environment. It has been used to get around government oppression, especially in some countries that are rather troubled in terms of political issues. Or, it has been used for those who do not wish to be tracked with every move. I use it quite a bit when the need arises to use Google, for example.
Some things come at a cost, in this case, privacy comes at the cost of speed.
