A judge in California has blocked US sales of Samsung's Galaxy Nexus smartphones while the court decides on the firm's patent dispute with Apple.
It is the second victory for Apple as earlier this week sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet in the US were barred until the case was resolved.
The two companies have been locked in a battle over several continents over Samsung's Galaxy tablets and smartphones.
Apple has waged an international patent war since 2010 as it seeks to limit the growth of Google's Android system, the world's best-selling mobile operating platform.
US District Judge Lucy Koh said Apple 'has shown a likelihood of establishing both infringement and validity.'
Yesterday the U.S. District Court of Northern California said that the Galaxy Nexus smartphone 'likely' infringes four patents held by Apple Inc., including a patent used in the 'Siri' voice-activated assistance available in the iPhone 4S.

And this is also why I dislike Apple. Stifling creativity and attempting to overthrow the competition in an attempt to rule the market.

This is just awful. Android had voice search before Siri anyway! And the Galaxy Nexus is an amazing phone. Apple is really going too far now.

Fucking Apple. All they are are jealous of the Android operating system and the excellent devices that we have that are competition and are clearly superior. I wouldn't buy an Apple product anyways, so whatever. I swear if they block the Samsung Galaxy S III from coming to Verizon, I will fly out to California and burn their fucking headquarters down.

Another reason why I'm not a fan of Apple's decisions. It's competition, they need to realize that. Maybe they'd stand a better chance if they lowered the outrageous price of some of their products (says the owner of a 64GB iPhone 4s).

So you're blaming anyone who uses an Apple product for this decision? How mature and educated of you. Blame the company.

Apple is just jealous that Andriod supports Flash.
Get with the times, Apple.

Hello thats called GOOD BUSINESS!
That's called a monopoly, and if Apple escalates to that, the government will take action.

Wonder where Apple got the idea for the notifications drop down??
I got me a Galaxy Nexus a few weeks ago. I can't believe the court keeps granting patents for frivolous ideas.

Just wait, soon all of Apple's patents won't mean a damn thing because the court will eventually get sick of the same old thing and throw every single Apple patent infringement case out. It has already happened in a few countries. One I know of is Germany, since the last one a while back, German judges ruled that Apple will be banned from filing patent cases against other companies there.
