I dont exactly know where to put this....

My neighbor asked if I could teach her granddaughter how to swim and I said sure. Now I've been swimming for almost 10 years and when I tried to think of some different activites with her I came to a blank. So I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to what I could do to teach her to swim. She already knows how to float and keep her face in the water so it would just be some elementary things. Thanks!

Does she know how to kick? because you could have her do something involving that. maybe do some kinds of basic drills. some games like "simon says"
like "simon says do flips under water" for flip turn practice. (don't actually do that right away, haha but it was just an example)

Yeah i was going to have her hold onto the wall and just tell her to do like flutter kick and possibly breast stroke...i think that the simon says thing would be more like a game or reward or something to do really later on. you know what i mean? and plus like no one in her family swims so if her grandma is watching me shes never gonna know if like im doing some really stupid drill or something haha

It would be a fun thing that would help her learn a little more. You could do something like that every once in a while. just make sure she has fun.
And drills are pretty much how you learn how to swim. You can tell her grandma what the drill does if she really wants to know.

I am actually a coach for training squad at my pool, which is swim team for 6and under. What we do is we had them kick

We have them kick on the wall for about 30 seconds, then across the shallow end with kick boards, up and back, then across using stream line, up and back, and then we have them do freestyle up and back as well.
