Scientest beleive that all the energy there has and ever will be was created at the big bang. And that it just gets tranferred from thing to thing. What if all the souls were created with the big bang. And people just keep going from life to life. They say history does repeat itself.

Yes that's a possibility.
(I don't see much to debate xD)

Surely scientists don't claim that all the energy that has ever existed was created in the big bang because you would need energy to initiate the big bang. Think of it in terms of striking a match. The spark and the flame that follows use and produce energy. But you need the energy to strike the match before either of these can ever occur.
I don't think that "souls" could have been created from the big bang. In my eyes they are just a figment created by humans to provide security. Ok, so there is something special and unique about each and everyone of us. But I simply don't believe in the existence of souls.

i dont even believe in the big bang theory. Not because i have some other wacky theory to believe but just because it wouldve happened so long ago that we really have no evidence that it really happened.

Well, I dont think souls were created by the Big Bang. I DO believe in souls, but I dont believe EVERYONE is reincarnated(soul moving from death, to a new life)

we really have no evidence that it really happened.
All universes, stars, planets etc. are quickly spreading farther and farther away.
They've isolated that each of these things is moving away from one central point.
I think it's called the Red Shift Theory, I can't remember exactly.
They have proof of the ball of mass seconds before the big bang, and the after effects. The only part they haven't proven is what happened the exact second the bang occurred.

Just a quick addendum (is that spelled right?), history repeats itself for many reasons. The main ones being that people dont learn from past mistakes, and make them again, and the other being that the core of human nature remains the same for thousands of years, the desire for war, conquest, and power are all factors of the seeming repitition of similar events throughout history because human behhavior remains untouched.

This is a little offtopic I think but what is it expanding in to though? I have never been able to get my head around the fact that people say the universe never ends (is infinite in size) and that it is expanding. If it really is expanding what is it expanding into?

I think more over "expanding" means that everything is growing apart and getting farther away from each other. There's probably a place where the galaxies end and there's just black. Of course these theories are just theories and I don't want to be behind any of them because I don't really know
To the original poster, I dunno what to debate about :-s

Another reason as to why history repeats itself is that, with an increasing population, it is more likely that someone will do something that will make them a conqueror, lose their armies in the winter, etc.
As for souls, I don't believe in them. I just don't think there's enough evidence to support any sort of metaphysical entities like that.
As the universe expands faster than the seed of light, other galaxies are shooting farther and farther away from us. Eventually, the night sky will be almost completely devoid of stars. Then we will reach a point where this galaxy and a few others will be held together by the force of gravity, which is able to overcome the expansion, and scientists fear that they'll think that the universe only consists of those few galaxies because we won't recieve any light from the other galaxies.

Just because everything is moving and spreading apart doesent mean that it was a huge explosion that created all the solar systems and everything that we see and are today.

It's possible but i think some religious theorys explain it more clearly...

I think the religious ones attempt to explain it. There is no single satisfactory answer as to how the universe came into being. It has been pondered for thousands and thousands of years, we won't have the answer to it after not even 20 years on this planet.

If it all comes from a point the size of a really big ball of mass, I don't see how it would all fit unless y'know, a bang occured to push it ;D
I dunno, there's a lot of theories out there and I'm open to them all. The Red Shift just seems to make the most sense. Also, with the open ended possibility that God created the bang, considering there's a 1 in 4053845034850345683405934856034580435890 chance of it happening.

There are two thoughts related to the big bang theory and universe expansion i think.
1. As the universe exspands it will get colder and colder as all the energy gets more and more dispersed until everything reaches absolute zero and the universe as we know it dies.
2. The universe will expand as above except once it expands past a certain point it will collapse on itself and will get smaller and smaller until i tis back were it started, a tiny ball the size of a pin head. Then it will expload and start all over again.
The weird thing about the second theory is that if you think about we could be living an exact repeat of previous universes.

Can you imagine yourself dying and everything just blacking out-because I've always felt as if a little bit of me would keep fighting
