Does shaving armpit hair really make it thicker and darker?

Shaving any hair does not make it come in thicker and darker. That is a common myth.

Shaving does not change the hair when it grows back. This is just an urban legend. The hair may feel slightly rough for a day or two as it grows back, but this is just because it has sharper ends as a result of being cut. The only hair removal process that changes the hair growth permanently is waxing, which makes it thinner.

No, all that will happen is that you split the roots which make more hairs grow out of one root, giving the illusion that more hair is growing, when actually, it will grow at the same rate as before.
