I have to decide. Should I enroll in a more advanced school, and take college courses? If I go to the more advanced school, I loose all of my friends. It makes more sense really. I already took most High School courses in Middle School anyways... Or, I go into regular school, and take advanced courses. Keep my friends. Not trouble my family by going to a school 30 minutes from my house. My head is spinning, I feel sick just typing this. I never thought I'd have this much responsibility on my shoulders at only 13... I just need honest advise.

Get out a sheet of paper and weigh the pro's and con's. Does you going to a different school mean your never going to see your friends? Would your parents go out of their way to give you the best education you can get? Do you want to go to this school?

Those kind of things. Just figure out what you want and what would be best.

So, I worked it out.

Pro's:
-Advanced education
-Get a county provided laptop
-Won't have to do Language Arts, or Social Studies
-New School!

Con's:
-Long drive ( I will be 16 going out of High School, so that doesn't help either.)
-Abandoning of friends.
-Won't get the same experience.

So far the pro's outweigh the con's.

I had to make the same chance last year. I had to choose between a better school, which was further from my house and none of my friends were going to, and a worse school, within walking distance, where I would have known more people.

I chose the better school, and couldn't be happier. I got to make new friends and get a better education. The only downside if the hour long bus ride.

Only you can know what is best for you, but I would advise you to choose the better education. You will get used to the long drive and can make new friends. If you don't like it, you could always transfer to the school closer to your house.

Usually the "normal" schools with advanced courses are adequate for getting into most universities. In California, at least, less and less universities are looking at what school you go to, just how much you stand out from the crowd.
Go to the school where you will be able to do the most. In other words, go where you will be happy and excelling.

You don't need a 4.0 GPA anymore to get in most places.
