Hey my name is Matt, I really enjoy singing but I am nervous to like do it in public or anyone else but the few people that have heard me sing say I am really good and should go audition somewhere. Anybody have any advice on what I should do? I guess I would just say I am nervous about what people might say about me.

I was exactly the same too. Just start small. Sing to gradually bigger groups of people. It's difficult at first, but now I regularly play gigs :p

Same for me, I've yet to do anything about it and still just stick my bedroom and sing when nobody else is home :p

I have YouTube videos though which get good reception, idk why I won't even sing to my best friends or my family!

Same as everyone else said. Just do it. Perform for larger and larger groups at a time. Before you know it you'll be fine :P

Hey matt! hopefully this helps:

so i used to be an extremely shy kid. But i tried out for my school's select choir not even knowing i could sing and i made it. I was still extremely nervous to go sing in front of crowds but the first time i did it it felt AMAZING afterwards. Theres no better feeling than singing infront of people in my opinion its just awesome.

so my advice is to just give it a try dont worry about what anyone thinks of you or if you'll mess up just go have fun and enjoy yourself!

I still get nervous whenever I sing in public, but you need to power through it. If you close your eyes, you can imagine yourself singing to yourself or singing to a close friend/bandmate. It gets easier every time, especially if you get positive feedback from the audience. Just remember the words and the tones, you'll be golden.

Who cares what people say? If Elvis had been afraid to sing where would we be today?

im the same way lol few people have heard me and the few who have say im really good but i have really REALLY bad stagefright. it took a lot of i-can-do-it's to even sing in front of the ones who've heard me. and those were close friends and a girl im currently dating. plus my mom and one of her friends (that last one was an accident. didnt know he was listening)
i still cant sing in front of anyone without freaking, turning red, and running. lol but if i were the type to be able to do that, id say not to care about what others thought and sing ur guts out! :yeah: hope i helped some :)
