Is Cutting a Sin?

I have been wondering for a while now, is self-harm a sin. Opinions?

Well... yes, it is a sin according to the bible, (destroying your own substance/body) but whether that is important and relevant is another matter.

19*Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20*you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.

This could be interpreted to mean that it is a sin to harm your bodies.

I don't think so, but i am not sure about it. God values the soul, not the body if i'm not wrong...

As stated above, it has been quoted by the Bible itself to treat your bodies well and self-harm kind of goes against that. So, I would consider it a sin (along with the bible, apparently :P).

I think its a sin because we are harming our bodies. But I wasn't sure.

Yeah, like above, I was just going to say, it is most likely a sin because harming your body in anyway, whether it be yourself or from another person doing it to you, is a not right.

bodys are tempoary anyway, i think the spirit is the thing that matters most, i mean really, spirits were ment to attach to bodys.

I don't believe in the bible and 'sins' so in my opinion no, it's not. I'm not saying it's a good thing but I can't say it's a sin if I don't think sinning is real, right?
