Im sorry but Linken Park, and all other sellout bands just like Linken Park are a bunch of tossers!

Anyone who plays an instrument, like guitar for example (i play guitar) can just listen to any of their songs, think "what the fuck" and then jump out of a window. They put NO effort into their music! It's a couple of riffs, played over and over again, with alot of special effects, and a synthesizer.

Then they just SCREAM down the microphone!

"THE PAAAIN SO UNBEAAAARAAABLEEEE" is pretty much along the lines of their lyrics, well the subject matter anyway. The only thing they are good at is marketting, they know what relates to everyone, everyone faces pain in their life, eveyrone faces 'bad times' so of course the lyrics might appeal to you.

Other than that, they aren't artists. They are crap!

Sadly though, and unlike me, the general population doesn't listen to "real" music. Just alot of sounds that are pretty after being warped in a computer.

but I really don't think Linkin Park is crap; take Numb for example, that song as no deep screaming into the mic... I guess u just gotta have an ear for specific tones and rythems that most can't hear :? but w/e - Kiros

im not a big fan of linken park.. anymore, but i dont agree what u said about the couple of riffs thing, i think some of my fave songs are played with 4 powerchords through the whole song, but if it goes and sounds good i like it,

i play guitar, drums, trumpet/cornet and keyboard, so i got a good ear for picking out music, i tune music down in my brain so im only listening to the drum part, or w/e.

just cuz they dont do loadsa technical solos during thier songs, that would just sound dumb in there style of music anyway, doesnt make them a bad band, they are good at what they do, just not my style of music,

anyway back to the point, yellowcard are the bestband in the poll,. but G.C are good aswell, i have reanimation and metoria albums for linken, and i can listen to them without wanting to die, unlike most metal bands.

The marketing of Linkin Park annoys me, as Shaolin said, everyone faces pain in their life, so that captures an audience.
Then add in the video-game style or lonely good looking girl of their music videos, that gets the... dunno, whatever they are.
They somehow have maketed it as cool so people think they are cool listening to it.
It's simple music, you can't dislike it, it's like pop, repetitive and bland.
They make vocals loud so they sound like loud rock music.
Then they add in a bit that's almost rap, yes... how I despise rap.

Actualy, I should commend them for their marketing, it's clever. Most steriotypical groups like it because they only see the stuff that is directed a their steriotypical group and think it's targeted at them.

In the end they are just pop, cleverly disguised pop, but pop none the less.

Linkin Park is a really good group/band. Ive stuck by them for a while, and their songs blow me away every single time, you know if you really listen to the lyrics, it actually does mean something, Yeah I have an ear for music too seeing as I play the Clarinet, Piano and Trumpet.
