I am friends with people who are homosexual and others who are bisexual. At my age people say that it could be just hormones. Is this true?
(I posted a similar thread to this one, but did not feel it got the question right)
I just want to know so I can understand better. Sorry if this question offends anyone. It is asked purely so that I can be a better friend to them.

Well during puberty you are more atracted to the same sex to usually compare. But yes and even if you are you can chose to switch sides at anytime :) its only between you and God

yeah I would say hormones have alot to do with experimenting and being attracted to the same sex. I kinda knew I was differant then my friends because it seems I have always liked boys more than girls. as for dealing with your Gay and Bisexual friends treat them like you would treat anyone else. their sexual preferance should not effect your friendship or the way you treat them at all. hope this helps you.

very true. i think thats good advice.

Keep in mind, it wasn't a choice. We don't want to be treated anymore different.

I’m a bit confused by this post and the replies by other people.

You can be friends with whoever you want to be friends with regardless of their sexuality; it shouldn’t be an issue to people who aren’t small minded.

Most people aren’t friends with who they want to be friends with because they are afraid of how their other friends will view them.

I would say that young people in society nowadays are following a ‘sheep’ culture; they follow the heard and are afraid the status quo even if they don’t agree with it.
No one chooses to be sexually attracted to one sex or another so they cannot possibly be blamed or singled out.

If you’re attracted to these friends then let them know, maybe they can help you understand them – ask them questions – it may even progress onto something

During puberty hormones can make you physically attracted to the same sex, but if you are both physically and emotionally attracted to the same sex you are Bi/Gay

what is all this "emotional" attraction stuff I keep hearing over and over...to me if you're physically attracted to the same sex you are either gay or bi, I don't have all this "emotional" stuff, and I'm only physically attracted to guys...so I'm gay, right - that's how I see it. I'm very "masculine" and "straight" acting and nobody would suspect, I don't care to "kiss" or "date" guys, or "get married" but I'm gay.

oops, just realized I "bumped" an old thread....sorry mods, I just now saw the date, can't seem to find the delete.
