Was just thinking about stuff to talk about on here so this is what I came up with: In a lot of schools, sport (PE or Gym, what ever you call it) is a compulsory subject. I dont think this is fair, since if you're not sporty the class can have a negative impact on some people's self esteem.

So, what do you think? Should sport be compulsory in schools?

Yes it should be. Absolutely. When else are kids going to exercize this day in age? Or if you live where I am, in the dead of winter? Anyone who doesn't want sports in School are the people who were bad at it and say "Y'know, I didn't like it, so no one should like it." It's very, very important to teach teamwork and comraderie to children through play. Whether it's in Elementary school or in High school it's still damn important.

In my high school, you need 2 Physical Education credits to graduate. I left those for grade 12 because I'm bad at sports. Doesn't mean I don't think it should be compulsory.

@I think sport should be compulsorily because they are lot of children's who are not good at studies but are good at sports! So, i think subject act as an opportunity to them and therefore they discover their sporty skills through this subject! :)

Hell, I utterly suck at Sports, and I love Gym. Seriously, the kids that whine about it don't even try. Like the others said, it teaches good values on teamwork, and should stay.

Well no one should be put down for not being good at games. But exercise is good and everyone needs it.

I definitely think it should be compulsory (and I'm borderline anti sports). At my highschool, and i would assume most highschools, have classes that aren't a clusterfuck of sports. Like weight lifting, or even a JROTC program.

Fuck, 1 year old -_-

I don't think it should be mandatory in school because it's a waste of valuable academic time. For people, like me, who would prefer to taking an educational class during that time, it's an utter waste of time. Obviously exercise is good, but it's not the school's job to make sure you exercise. Teamwork is good, but students can learn more relevant teamwork by working together on projects in class. Students could be doing so many more valuable things during that time.

And I'm not saying this as someone who hates sports and is nonathletic - I'm a competitive tennis player.
