strange bump.

so i wokeup this morning and there was a strange bump on the base of my head. Right where my spinal cord connects to my skull. Its about the size of a pea. And the fact that its near my spinal cord kinda scares me... Your thoughts on what it could be?

Could be a swollen Lymph Node, this indicates that your immune system has become active even more so than normal to fight off whatever has entered your body.

I would call your physician and schedule an appointment.

There are a multitude of things that it could be. It could be a muscle knot, a neck bone spur, a swollen lymph node, or a tumor. I have never heard of these happening so suddenly, but it could be dangerous. I believe it would be best to consult your GP about this.

I had one of these appear on my neck once. Turns out it was a swollen lymph node. However like Dimitri and Smeagol said, get it checked out just to be safe.

ermmmm. My mother seems to think it's a knot..... But it is to small to be a knot. *huff*
