Could you make a youtube brackets button in the editor? It's more tedious to type the entire [youtube] <Insert Magic Here> [ /youtube]. Or you could simply shorten it to [yt] [ /yt] and have it hidden like the Strikethrough brackets.

I know there has been talk of this in the past including the agreement of who were the administrators at the time, but everytime someone brings it up it never fabricates.

Couldn't hurt to have this. And a strikethrough one too. I didn't even know the BB codes list existed until recently.

I support. not everyone has visited the BBCode page (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/misc.php?do=bbcode)...so yeah. not saying every single one of the BBCode listed - that aren't listed - should be on there - but definitely agree that Youtube and Strikethrough should be on there.

I think this would be a good idea. Not essential but it could not hurt to have it added in.

I mean it does sound slightly lazy but if you are posting more than one youtube video at a time it does become a tad annoying to type the youtube tags in multiple times.

I didn't even know there was a list o.o but this sounds like a good idea.

There already is a [-]strikethrough[/-].
[-]Strikethrough text here[/-].

Edit: Nevermind, didn't realize you were talking about buttons. :P

Edit2(Might as well contribute now...:P ): If I remember right, the editor is cluttered enough with buttons (I say this because I use the basic editor 'A simple text box'), and even though it's only one button, it really doesn't need anything more. As for posting multiple YT videos, just copy/paste the bit a few times and add in your video code. The button isn't necessary, and isn't worth the effort in adding it, IMO.
Then again, my opinion is pointless, seeing as I hate all buttons on the editor screen (Which is why I use the basic editor).

I think it's a really good idea.

If you're posting multiple videos in one post, then things become slow, especially for me. I click the "back" button if the fan starts blowing really hard and the processor usage goes to 90% because of the badly written Flash player and videos that are quoted and re-quoted.
So no, I think it's worth the effort to type the complete "youtube".

I agree with Brandon and Thomas. We don't need the button (although it would be nice for some). However, I do like the idea of the code being re-written to "yt" to make it faster to do same thing. I don't have any clue how coding works, but I'd imagine that'd be a quick and simple change.

Wouldn't it be possible that quoted videos could be replaced with the word "video" like quoted images are replaced with "image"?

I really see no harm in doing this, it'd be helpful when uploading multiple videos (such as my railfan videos that I'll start making soon) or in the "Say Hi" thread.

Though it really isn't that hard to implement the codes, the button in the editor would make it a lot less confusing and cumbersome, as I had a hard time trying to get the Youtube BB to work.

That's my two cents, though. I wouldn't mind this being implemented!

Oh my goodness. That would make life here on the forums SO much better. I always struggle with youtube codes (not only on here, MinecraftForum too) because somehow I end up messing up the youtube code.

TL;DR: I want this!

EDIT: Woot, 555th post. Cool number :D

Seems like a good idea. Was going to bring this up once but felt it was pointless. as mentioned above simply using ctrl+v , ctrl+c does the trick when wishing to add multiple videos. Twould be great if we could use html5 instead of flash. Someday that reality will come true

You have to realise that HTML5 is still rather young, and not every browser supports it completely, yet. Plus, if we are going to use HTML5 for that, logically we would have to make other parts of the site in HTML5. And that is more trouble than it's worth, to be honest.

It would be better to view said video here instead of going to youtube to see it.

Not only that, links don't show what the video is about, or the title, or the thumbnail image. You're left in the dark until you click the link
