Widows Duty

Holding a folded flag
Trembling down the aisle
She wears a black dress
And mourns at the casket

Fighting hard not to cry
She falls in front of his casket
Every touch is a bullet through her heart
Every thought, a cry of pain

Bad weather swarms the sky
Since he died fighting for America
As the preacher man began to speak
Rain gushes down from the sky

She sits as she begins to think
The rain hides my tears
Thus she cries harder
With every tear a drop of blood he lost

Once it ends, everyone leaves but her
Leaving her on her own battlegrounds
Slowly she walks to the casket again
as she embraces the casket

Kneeling down to take order
She unlocks the casket
Pulls off his army suit, puts her hair up
Ready to finish what is not done

Ready to fight for her country, she
Drafts herself in his place, and
Barely a year later, she is laid by
Him in peace.

Omg... I'm crying. This is so good. I mean, like amazingly good. The beginning reminds me of my grandma <3. Awesome job.
