So this morning on my way to school my mom asked me if she could ask me something. I knew exactly what she was going to ask because I had fresh bright red cuts on my wrist. She asked if i cut and i replied yes. One of my friends mom had called her because she saw my post on fb through her sons update page about stopping cutting. My mom didn't yell or anything at me and wasn't forcing me to give it up because I told her the truth and that I'm trying to quit.

This is positive news there are many ways that parents react and this is one of the best, and now you have it easier if you ever do need her help if you want to see someone or cut too deep.
I know it's difficult to have your parents know but it really is for the best, good luck

Thats great! I know what you mean by just "knowing" what they are going to ask. My mom came to therapy with me once, and my therapist didnt know about my cutting. My therapist asked to talk to my alone in like the last 5mins of my session, so i left and went to the bathroom. I was a bit nervous as it was, because i was thinking about them talking about my cutting. My therapist came out and asked me if i would come back to her office after i was done in the bathroom. At that moment i just knew. I knew they knew about my cutting. I was pissed. It was not a good day hahaha

That's amazing how well things went. Know that you can talk to her now, if you need to, because you know she won't get angry now. Stay positive and know this is a good thing, you have someone to fall back on now.

i have friends to talk to about it because they know but no adults at the time so if something happened where i cut very badly I couldn't tell someone without screaming. Now i may have a better chance. Still worried about my dad though.

Well that's great that you have multiple people to turn to then. You shouldn't feel pressured to tell your Dad, unless your Mum tells him? Maybe talk to her, ask her not to and I'm sure she'd understand or at least be a little sympathetic. Is your Dad likely to get angry or act differently than your Mum?
