I feel like..shit. Like a terrible god damn person..I'm scum, that's what I am. SCUM.
Why?
Well, I told an autistic kid that he sounded like a 5 year old autist, and to shut up. I didn't know he was autistic. Oh my God, it's killing me..why would I do it..I've been crying all day, and I'm finally calm..just not on the inside. It's tearing me apart. I feel like scum..
well, that's what I am, I guess. Scum.

That was just a misunderstanding- you didn't know he was autistic. Relax. Just apologise next time round. We all make awkward and hurtful mistakes sometimes, no ones perfect.
No worries man!

Little mistakes can tear you down like that. But in the grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal. Just apologize and say that you didn't know, because after all you didn't, and you're obviously sorry.
Chin up, darling. It's not the end of the world

Yes, little mistakes can do that...hun,
I am crying right now because yesterday I was in a symposium and I missed a potential employer calling me to set up and interview and because I didn't get the voicemail until after their office closed I called back today when they opened to find out that the office manager will not be in til Monday...

We all make mistakes. It's part of being human. None of us are perfect. You are NOT scum! You are a person like the rest of us!

Dude...worse things than that are going to happen. Plus you can't change the past, so stop obsessing about it and look forward, to you apologizing to him, and him understanding that what you did was an accident and you didn't mean it, which would make him happy.
