I don't know if anyone reading this remembers, but possibly anywhere between 6 months to a year ago, I posted about how I was applying for the United States Naval Academy (USNA). Well anyways, I ended up not getting in :(. I will not give up however! I've got a back up plan and I am actually doing to be shipping off to Bootcamp in Great Lakes, IL for Navy RTC bootcamp for two months. After that, I received a job in the Nuclear Field (NF) where I will go to Charleson, South Carolina for a year and a halfs worth of schooling for Nuclear Power. After that, I am allowed to reapply for the USNA! Hopefully, by this time anyways, they will be more impressed with my application beause I will have been in the Navy for two years by then and I will have had some schooling to make me smarter, etc and hopefully my dream of being accepted will come true!

I leave August 7th, 2012! One and a half months! It can't come any faster! Anyone else joining the military?

Im still not a big fan of the navy. it seems pretty boring to me. Id rather be able to on the lines fighting instead of sitting in the sea tanning on an aircraft carrier

It's perfect for the people who DON'T want to be on that front line. I'm also going to be in the air conditioning for my job. It has to be air conditioned to keep the reactor and all the electrical things cooled.
