I live with a disorder that causes me to sweat much easier and much more than average people. This is just a little info about it and some tips. If you suffer from it, or know someone who does, go ahead and read this. These things helped me.
Excessive Sweating?
Ever feel like you sweat much more or much easier than most people? This is called HYPERHIDROSIS. Hyperhidrosis is defined as an excessive and non physiological amount of sweat produced by the body. It can be a generalized situation where excessive sweating appears all over the body or focal hyperhidrosis where the excessive sweating is situated in areas such as the hands, palms, armpits, feet or the face.
There is only one cure for Hyperhidrosis, and that is an endoscopic surgical procedure that cuts and kills some of the nerves that tell your body to sweat.
I sweat from my head and face, and a little in my feet. This is incredibly embarrassing for me because I play a lot of sports, and during practices, and in the locker rooms, I have sweat an excessive amount more than anybody else has, and people would notice and ask me about it. I am graduated from high school now, and will be entering the U.S. Navy in a month and a half. This is scary for me because there is just going to be a new group of people asking me why I am sweating doing barely any work at all. At least in high school, people who saw me sweat eventually knew what was wrong and they accepted it. Now I"m going to a place where no one knows me.
Although this is going to seem like a scary situation, I am confident because I take some cautious steps to prevent my disorder from becoming really bad.
Step One: Wear the light of clothes suited to the climate of your region. The lighter the clothes, the less heated your body is and your body works less to cool it down.
Step Two: Pace yourself, and don't overwork yourself when not needed. Even something simple as walking somewhere causes me to sweat, so when I walk places, I walk as leisurely and slowly as needed unless I have to be somewhere quick.
Step Three: Learn to stand in cool places and find good cooling techniques. Using a clip board to fan yourself, or just pumping your shirt away from your body to let air into your shirt to cool you off are great techniques.
