Hello there, I am still new and am trying to get used to a new forum. :) Is there a way to track a thread, or like the site notifies you in the site when a new post is posted on that thread?

Absolutely! Right above the 1st post, there is a menu called "Thread Tools". Click on "Subscribe to thread" and you're set. I'm not sure about announcements, but you can check by going to your User CP.

It shows up in your email and also under User CP where it says "New Subscribed Threads" at the very top.
