Hey everyone, I've heard of TMS before, and I was wondering what you guys thought about it (I dunno, it could just be a load of bull... but ya never know...). Here's a link to it's description, in case you guys don't know what it is. Oh, and if the link doesn't show up, just google it (can't be that hard to find, right?).

I suppose you could become addicted to masturbation, but a highly doubt that many people do. 1 in 100,000 maybe. But thats just my 2 cents.

Erm, it is a difficult question to answer. I have looked at a couple of sites about this (including the one you posted here) and it seems a bit dubious as no follow up research has been carried out. This theory (for that is all it is, a theory) is not looked upon all that favourably by many health professionals. For what it's worth, I am more inclined to side with the opposition he has received. At least they have other evidence to support their statements of other stressors contributing to sexual dysfunction.
Sank's theory isn't widely recognized in the medical community, and there hasn't been follow-up research to see if his claims are valid. Other researchers have cited that problems with getting and maintaining an erection or ejaculating may be related to more pressing issues, such as how often a guy masturbates. However, because sexual dysfunction can be caused by stressors in a person's emotional, psychological and/or physical well-being, there might be other issues at hand.
Btw Free Runner, maybe next time you should familiarise yourself with the topic in hand - just my two cents.

You cannot become 'addicted' to masturbation, it's a normal activity. The position you prefer is personal, there's nothing 'dangerous' about which side of your body you lie on. This is just 'junk science'.

I think it makes sense
Better to be safe that sorry
You can be addicted to masturbation, its just not dangerous as say being addicted to smoking.

That's all a load of bull and completely untrue. Masturbating this way is common, and might not even be classified as masturbating at all! It's definately not a mental illness and I can tell that the whole article is completely false

it's like breathing, are you addicted to that? How about pooping?
Smoking is addictive because of nicotine, it's a chemical addiction to a drug. Waaaay different.

I think alot of guys feel guilty because somehow they believe it's not oky to have this much fun. But, it really is . It's okay, it's normal. it's supposed to feel that good so that we're all good creatures and procreate alot. The orgsm is the reward for that!
It's not something bad or dangerous like an addiction, or something weird like a 'mental thing' As long as it doesn't get in the way of other parts of life.

This is still being discussed? Well, you cannot be addicted to something that's both natural and normal, biological, and functional. Orgasms (no matter how you get there) serve a biological function: They reward for procreation (reproduction). if they didn;t feel good, there'd be no reason to try to have one, eh?
It's important when reading stuff online to evaluate the credentials of the poster as well as his/her findings before accepting them. Often, things look or seem more believable than they really are.

I don't care how old this topic is. TMS isn't about being addicted to masturbation like the rest of you are saying. TMS is about masturbating.... in a different direction I guess. Like downwards. It even includes something like using something different such as rubbing against something instead. Also the theory suggests that because of such acts, you aren't simulating sex with your hand (which is kind of what masturbation is about), hence you might cause yourself problems such as a less than great sex life.
