Okay, before I begin, if anyone gets the reference from the title, i will love you eternally.

But, I love thinking about the universe. In my mind, there is absolutely no way we are alone. The universe is so freakin' huge, no one knows if it ends. So youre telling me, we're the only one's in it? In my mind, that's impossible.

I also like to think, in the other world, that there is someone exactly like you. It makes you feel not alone. lol.

Anyways, what are you guys thoughts?

First of all, while the universe never "ends", it does have an area where stuff just doesn't exist yet. To help comprehension: Lets say that the Big Bang happened EXTREMELY SLOWLY, that all of the matter moved outward at about a foot per second. Pause everything one second after the Big Bang. Everything outside of that two-foot large ball would be nothing. That is technically the edge of the universe. Nothing exists outside of it, yet. Essentially, the only reason why the universe is infinite is because there is an infinite amount of space that we just haven't been able to see anything occupy. You know, it could be that there were more than one Big Bang, and we're just too far away to see it yet, that the light hasn't reached us yet, or we aren't looking in the right direction.

It's nigh impossible that we're the only sentient beings out there. And in fact, it doesn't necessarily have to stand true that we're the only two-legged, eyes-above-nose-above-mouth species in the Universe! The DNA "codes" that started the Human race as they look today actually came from a meteor that crashed into Earth a HECK of a long time ago. That meteor must have come from somewhere, and who's to say that's the whole piece? It could be that a solar system not too far away is holding people who look rather similar to us, with animals that look not too differently from ours! Heck, with all of the genes and DNA flying everywhere, it could be that they have 'bonded' somewhat with their animal counterparts... :3

Monty Python for the win! But yeah I agree it's so big that it is incomprehensible and I think that if anyone saw the hugeness of the universe their brain would explode (hitchhikers guide to the galaxy). There is no doubt in my mind there is other intelligent life out there though I don't believe it has ever visited us. The distances are just so huge but hey anything is possible.

Great post!

That is a very valid argument! :)

I agree.

To me, its just nearly impossible that we're alone. We dont know whats out there, and sadly we probably never will. Nevertheless, its always fun to think about.

There was a show on the Science channel, and this Asian dude was saying how the big bang, is still creating other universes. So like yes it is big, but it's still being created at this very moment. Also, they were talking about black holes, and they said that time doesn't exist when you enter a black hole, the farther you get in the black holes the more time slows, until it eventually stops. Steohen Hawking also said that before the big bang, time didn't exist, and if time didn't exist, no one could've had time to create it. Therefor there is no higher being, which I find very interesting, but I do not believe it.

Also, I do not believe in aliens, I do below in, maybe, other animal type things on other universes like bacterium and cells. But not anything like us. My moms friend, worked in Area 51, and my mom asked her a few questions, but she replied saying "It's illegal for me to say anything about it", but she then said, that the whole alien thing is a rumor.

This is exactly right and exactly what I had in mind. Saved me the trouble of writing.

Yes, Stephen Hawking's Grand Design. And seeing as how much research, hard work and dedication him and his team of cosmologists put in in order to figure out, question, and calculate that theory you are still nescient enough to deny it. You are a very close-minded person, indeed.
Especially due to you not "believing" in extraterrestrials -- you have much thinking to do. Go to the library sometime, you can learn a good deal of awesome stuff.

FYI, it was said close to; "A black hole is a star so massive, light does not escape its gravitation, nor does time. In fact, if you have a clock in outer space, the closer it gets to the black hole, the slower the hands on the clock move. When it reaches inside the black hole, time comes to a complete stop. Time does not exist in black holes. The universe, billions of years ago, was like a black hole.
Light did not escape and there was no time. Because time did not exist, there was no time for a creator to have existed."

If you knew about the different times, you would understand. Time could be used to measure how long it took for an action to be performed. The time that does not exist is the time we created with hours, minutes, etc. Another use of time, is described as a dimension, in which Stephen is referring to in his book.

How am I "close-minded"?

I was saying something that I saw on the science channel and decided to share it, that's closed minded to you? Wow.

Is that really what you thought I was referring to? Forget about it.

The universe is so big, it's impossible for their not to be another species at least as intelligent as us.
In our very solar system, there is most likely unicellular organisms and of their kind, in Europa's oceans, Titan's methane lakes, under Mar's soil.
