Recently Apple announced a larger update to Siri, new languages, new places where you can find places, and iPad support. But, they didn't announce that it is out of beta yet, did they? I don't think it is quite yet. What do you think?

It's still in Beta? It seems weird why Apple would release Beta software built into a product bought by thousands.

They released it, saying that it was a beta product in the keynote.

Because everyone watches the keynote before buying a product.

Is it available in Canada yet?

Well, the iPhone 4S wasn't put out for sale/got into peoples hands on the day they released it. I doubt they'd release a product with beta software.

Huh? Of course it was for sale on the day they released it. That's what releasing it means. They did release it with beta software. There was a disclaimer at the bottom of the 4S commercials saying Siri was still in beta.

The whole thing? I've tried watching those keynotes before. The guy presenting never gets to the damn point. All he has to say is "our new phone features voice recognition, but it's still in beta" but instead he talks for over half an hour.

Then how come the iPhone came into people's hands in October, not June when it was introduced in the keynote? Surely in the 3 months gap period that there was at least improvement to Siri. And I looked at some commercials, and I didn't see any disclaimers saying Siri is in beta (after the release date commercials).

I'm not trying to sound rude or anything, but I highly doubt that a company would release beta software in a complete product, especially Apple.

I am certain that it was in beta right when they released the phone, but I'm really not sure if it still is, since you said there were no banners mentioning beta software in the commercial today.

Because the introduction is not the release date.

Oh, right. That's why people got upset (http://www.bgr.com/2012/03/12/apple-sued-over-misleading-and-deceptive-siri-ads/).
