A day before I get my period, for the past 2 and a half years I would get lower back pain so bad that it would make me stay in bed until the middle of my period. I would have to take vicodin which was prescribed to me just for this reason.

About 2 months ago, I got my period with back pain that hurt a lot less than it normally did. I took naproxen instead of vicodin and it killed off the pain.

Ever since then, I've barely gotten any back pain, nausea, and cramps. I get a little bit of back pain but taking naproxen kills it off.

I'm not complaining at all, but it's just weird because I didn't change anything to my daily routine to make it vanish.

My flow hasn't changed a bit. It's always been very heavy and I've used the same tampons and everything.

Is there anyone else around my age who has had their period drastically change in a small amount of time for no apparent reason? I'm 16.

This is completely normal. Our bodies change all the time, sometimes for the worse, or sometimes for the better like in your case. I never used to get cramps for almost the first five years and then have been getting them for the first day consistently ever since. One day I asked my mum the same question and she said yeah, stuff changes. As if periods weren't bad enough, we can't seem to trust them to be consistent. :P

You're still a teenager, so it's perfectly natural for your period "symptoms" to change like that. It's all the hormones going crazy.
I'm happy for you!
