I have recently moved for many reasons (featured in a precious thread) and of course I have moved school too. I'm at a great school but the people are not the brightest. The school promotes potential in school and I'm glad I have picked that school. However........ The people at the school general are not interested, I've been told I'm posh and too clever for my own good, purely because I don't talk in the stupid slang they use. I'm not posh, nor rich. And as for clever, I aim for as high as I can get. I don't see how that's wrong but it seems that doesn't bode too well with the other students. I do have friends but even they judge me. They assume that because I can use words in the correct form that I'm prim and proper and have life laid out for me.
What would be a good way to put across to my peers that I'm not posh or above them I just want to achieve and push myself academically??

Well first of all dont be letting anyone make you think that your not good the way you are because when you get older everything is to do with reputation and how you talk and act. I dont know what thread you are onabout as to why you have moved? But it sounds that you have had some trouble of some kind along the lines of life. If I was you then I would just reply to them when they call you "posh" and say something like "There's nothing wrong with being well spoken its a lifestyle choice not a background choice, I am by no means anymore rich than you." And see what they say, I mean if it was me personally I wouldn't care what they thaught of me because throughout the whole of my school life I didn't really have that many mates but when you leave you will see that things take a drastic change and you will end up falling into a group with people that are more like you rather than you trying to fit in with them :D Is it upsetting you?

Just continue to be yourself.
