I have recently moved for many reasons (featured in a precious thread) and of course I have moved school too. I'm at a great school but the people are not the brightest. The school promotes potential in school and I'm glad I have picked that school. However........ The people at the school general are not interested, I've been told I'm posh and too clever for my own good, purely because I don't talk in the stupid slang they use. I'm not posh, nor rich. And as for clever, I aim for as high as I can get. I don't see how that's wrong but it seems that doesn't bode too well with the other students. I do have friends but even they judge me. They assume that because I can use words in the correct form that I'm prim and proper and have life laid out for me.
What would be a good way to put across to my peers that I'm not posh or above them I just want to achieve and push myself academically??
