We should have one.

Any thoughts or reasons why we don't?

I think that it's a pretty good idea...

I don't see why we haven't had one yet. :P

I don't see the point in having one. To me, some will use it as a way to play with people on VT, but most will use it for purposes that aren't condoned here.

Still, I see no purpose. If you want to play on Steam with people from VT, ask them for their Steam ID via PM.

First result in Google. Steam is a software which allows gamers that are registered to steam to play with each other online if they have downloaded the software through steam and has online capabilities. Steam is also a downloadable games store with many discounts from time to time.

Oh, cool! I'll definitely check this out!

Well, true we could just exchange Id's via PM, but I was thinking about the group so many more people could play at once through events. Look at the Minecraft server, only two people, 3 people at a time if you're lucky go on at once. This way we could let everyone know when people are on and play as a larger group. Not that a large group is crucial, it's just a nice thing to have when you're on a forum like this.

If anyone really wants, I can start the group. I'm a bit skeptical about it, though.

If one does get formed, I have 3 requests.

1. Private group with VT username confirmation.
2. Staff member in there, to help regulate questionable activities.
3. Do not use the name "VirtualTeen" in the name/description. I don't want my Steam friends to wonder what that is if they look through my groups.

With how the Minecraft server is set up, it doesn't much matter if you have one or one hundred players on at a time, it's the same really.

Agreed, though I'm with Connor and agree that it's a bad idea.

1. Fine with me, seems about right.
2. Is there any staff member that HAS Steam? I know you're a former mod, Con, so that could be easy.
3. VTSG (VirtualTeenSteamGroup)

Please explain how this idea could be negative in detail and with examples. I still fail to see ways how people who join the group would go outside of it's purpose.

*raises hand* I've had it for awhile.

But just saying, I don't really know how groups on Steam work but staff members really don't have any obligation to monitor anything outside of VT. I'd be glad to when I'm on and I'm all for being able to play games with other VT members but it is their responsibility to behave offsite as they would here too.

I'm sure people know this but I felt I'd mention it anyway.

I'm skeptical about the whole idea due to the nature of the site, most people don't want much offsite affiliation with it as has been mentioned about the group name and most ideas involving offsite VT groups. The reason we don't have one is I don't think there is really any reason for it and I'm not sure if it's really been brought up before.

People will use any offsite method to mingle with VT members that is more out of site of the staff for malicious purposes such as camming and pic exchange, they already do it via messengers and private message, there is little doubt in my mind that they wouldn't try the same thing offsite via a Steam group despite the groups original purposes being for gaming. Members would be better off and safer to just exchange IDs via PM.
