Long story short, I got a Red Ringed Xbox a few years back, and just recently decided to crack it open. Had no warranty and the seal inside the case was gone, so what the hell.

So I do my research yadda yadda, get the AS5, Yadda, yadda, and do everything necessary to the heatsinks above the GPU and CPU.

I had trouble with the GPU at first, seeing that I tried a damn penny trick... -.- but after tinkering I finally got it right. After that point, it ran for short periods of time, but it always showed the overheating light pattern on the power button despite the fact it was cooled.

I checked the error code and moved on to the CPU, which, again, I had trouble with, but eventually it worked well. Same thing, overheat pattern reappears,

I noticed that the heat level changed as time went along despite frequent breaks, and before when there was little to no heat, the heatsinks were hot to the touch eventually, and they stay that way as of now.

Now I think it's working, and it's a legit overheat, but my fans stay on even after the lights blink red, so Idk the problem. Should I get a new cooling system, reflow the ram and CPU/GPU, or did I do something wrong?

If you removed the heatsinks did you apply thermal paste before putting them back on?

Yup. Actually I've finished it and it works, but thank you.

Could someone lock this?
