Third book of The Heroes of Olympus comes out in October. I'm excited. I read the first chapter, and it's really good. the cover is awesome too.

Not sure how I will even be able to get my hands on a book in the first place, but we'll see.

Um, that'd be me! I LOVE Rick Riordan's books! Sooooo excited for The Mark of Athena. I'm also interested to see what he does with the (supposedly) "finished" Kane Chronicles characters

Meh, I've tried reading the Kane chronicles, but didn't really *like* it. It basically uses fore-shadowing as a tool for suspense (to keep them pages turning). I didn't like it all.
I find it a cheap way to keep up the suspense in the story overall.
But I digress.
I did like "The Last Hero", and it had one of the more satisfying endings I've had the pleasure of reading, and I really can't wait to get a hand on the next one.

I love Riordan, read all of the Percy Jackson books, the Kane Chronicles and the 2 Last of the Olympians out so far. Can't wait for the 3rd.

is the Mark of Athena the last book in the Heroes of Olympus series? anyone know?

No, it isn't. It's been confirmed by Rick Riordan that the Heroes of Olympus series will have 5 books. Yay! Haha... Based on the ending of the Kane Chronicles it can be assumed there will be a continuation of that series, and there are rumors of Rick Riordan working on a Norse mythology series due to be released in 2015

glad to know that The Mark of Athena won't be the last book. I want to eagerly await for more. though I would rather the story end right then and there so I don't have to wait so long...

Finished reading it last night. Gotta say, the ending... didn't really see it coming.

I wasn't expecting the way they leave Camp Jupiter (and I don't really like it). I didn't expect the ending either. >_> sigh, now to wait ANOTHER year for the next book.

Yeah, I didn't like that either. But they must have some drama. There was a lot of action, was there? Comparing it to other books, this book didn't have a lot of action in it. They had some but not much. It was a very informative book, though.

Where do you think Hera is hiding at? And you know, at the ending, how do you think they will get out? For the doors to be closed, someone must stay on the other side. Do you think the Gods will save whoever stays behind? Or do you think the Gods will refuse to even go near the place?

While I feel like the whole 'They fired on us' was great, I definitely would've rather it had been Octavius setting them up then the Eidolons.
