yeah, i recommend pull ups and push ups too. you'd probably want to get a pull up bar for your door. they are not expensive. theres this dude that has a book called something like "7 weeks to 50 pull ups" it gives you a pretty good plan if your just starting out.

my routine is pretty much:
push ups x25
pullups x10
diamond push ups x15
wide push ups x15
chin ups x10
(then repeat all that 2 more times)

I've also got a leg routine, which is squats, burpees, lunges and stuff. and an ab one, which is crunches and sit ups.

for cardio, running is free. i run about 3 or 4 times a week. i do a mixture of distance runs and intervals. i'm into boxing so i use skipping/jump rope/whatever you want to call it, a lot. apparently that can burn off 1000 calories an hour. not that i ever do it for an hour, but 3 minutes on and one minute rest about 5 times is what i usually do. don't worry if you suck when you first start, after about a month you'll be able to do tricks and everything. you probably want to get a "speed rope". mine cost about £4. just a warning tho, it hurts like heck if you get hit by it. oh yeah, and shadow boxing, thats good cardio. you just need a mirror to do it in front of. check out youtube for some good tutorial vids if you are interested.

unfortunately diet is the most important thing. all the exercise in the world won't help if your diet sucks.
