Question about hair dye...

I have dark blond hair, really dark. I want to dye my hair a dark red color so, if I bought a bright red and dyed my hair, would it turn out as a dark red or would I have to buy a dark red color? I plan on using Manic Panic if that makes a difference.

When my friend dyed her hair (she was dark blonde too) she used a normally red colour and it did come out rather dark, so I don't think you'd need to buy a darker red. Get the normal red.

u should buy dark red coz u have light hair , if u buy the light red it will look really light red n get even more lighter after couple showers so go with dark red

Hot Topic didn't have a bright red but they had a slightly darker one so hopefully it works. Thank you for answering though.

One more question: how long would you keep it in for? My sister says she keeps hers in for 30 minutes but other people I've talked to said an hour.

Yeah you want a dark red, not a bright one. The lighter your hair the easier it will take the colour and dark blonde is still a relatively light hair colour plus as your hair is virgin hair the colour will take even easier.

As for the dying itself you should really do a skin test before and a stand test to determine the length of time however i've had coloured hair for yeti years and have never done either I used to leave my red on about 25 minutes, don't leave it on an hour.
