Giving up on a friend considering suicide

Has anyone been given up on because its so hard to listen to someone telling you to accept it and move on and all the advice they give.

Most family and friends are done with me. they dont care what i do. when my friend went to guidance it was supposed to result in them saving me from myself. i expected them to take the knifes, hide the pills. they didnt do anything but almost destroy my support system i had left. my friend told me that because i gave up he does on helping.

It's hard, they don't know what you want. When you tell them you're done and that you've given up they don't realise that it's really a cry for help, that you want them to so something drastic and stop you. I know it might be hard but maybe if you open up a little more and tell them what you want, that you need their support, it might make them change their mind. I bet they do care, if you went through with it and succeeded then you can't say that you wouldn't have an impact on them. It would. If they don't know what you want them to do you can't expect them to help you, unfortunately they don't automatically know how to help, you have to explain. You said almost destroy your support system, so you still have that, someone to talk to that will listen? Use it to your advantage.

This post shows that although you say that you've given up and your friend/family might think similarly, you haven't really. You do want help, to get better, to stop and lead a good life. If only you'd let people know this instead of hiding away those very important feelings then maybe you'd start to find that people do care and want the same for you. You don't have to be alone though, whatever happens. VT is always here to fall back on or as a second support system along the way, lots of members are willing to give advice and help you. Don't give up just yet, there's so much more to experience.
